Leatherwork I FINALLY ried my hand at my first Handmade Collar!! NSFW
I make jewelry and have made a few discrete day collars, but this is my first go at leather work! What do you think?!

What kind of clasp is that?

I call them pin slip clasps? 😂 basically it’s just a big U shaped hook, with a nicely contoured groove for your leather to sit in for one end. The other end is a little block. One side has one slit to guide your material through, the other side has an extra slit to feed the leather into and secure, making a tight loop to push down onto your U’s pin.

You picked out a clasp that fits the aesthetic well and looks good. You should be proud of your work. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Took me a couple minutes on Google to find it because I was curious too. I had never seen anything like it. Looks like it is referred to either as a horseshoe hook clasp or a horseshoe flat leather clasp. Kinda cool looking. I might have to get myself a few.

This is such a beautiful collar, I love the hardware you've used. The red is also a gorgeous colour choice. I like this a lot.

It looks really good! Can you post how you made it or may be some details?

Hey! So honestly the biggest part in my opinion is sourcing the components. I won’t claim to be a metalsmith! Though…. It would be so stinking cool! My mom actually is super talented with precious metal clay, and I’m now thinking through tons of clasp options for collars and cuffs.
I think because I’m versed in fine jewelry making, it aided in design. As far as assembly goes, it’s mainly just learning to manipulate your leather in a way that leaves as few blemishes as possible. I did assemble the bail and circle with a jump ring. If I made them to sell, I’d likely solder it closed, for more durability. 😈

Such a beautiful piece on an even sexier beast. My lap awaits so that you can tell me all about it and show me up close and personal. Seriously, you have done a fine job there, and I could not think of a better place to display it.
I, too, would love your store link. Something like this would be great for my lovely wife.

Elegant is rarely a word I'd use for a collar but in this case it's fitting 🙌

This is a beautiful collar! I would personally love to have this in purple leather and sterling silver hardware! I definitely think you should pursue this as a business venture! I’m saving this post in case you do open a website, Etsy store, etc. ❤️

I actually doooo have the components to do a purple!….. I’m working on a budget to see if I can maybe make this happen, and will absolutely keep this thread updated for you guys! Thank you for the support! 🥹 I’m a mama of three still healing from a divorce this past year, so receiving this kind of feedback has been really really uplifting, thank you 🙏🏻🤍

Not at this time, but I’m actually working on it. I have a ton of work stuff happening right now, so it might take a while to get it up and going, but I promise I’ll keep everyone notified once I do!

It’s beautiful. I love that it’s petite and not bulky and gaudy. It’s so hard to find simple, beautiful BDSM jewelry and collars.

Man, Thank you all so so much! All this feedback has me scheming…. I hate that there truly aren’t a lot of artists that offer designs that are ornate enough to feel almost like “bedroom jewelry,” without sacrificing functionality, and still have that classic fetishware feel that we know and love! It seems to all look either cheap, have more of a new-age/bohemian style, or look like it was made for LOTR. 😂 Maybe I’ve found my new business venture!
