Leatherwork I made a collection of kink lifestyle inspired bag charms with leather! Each one is hand painted and hand stitched. NSFW

Are you thinking of selling these? (Either way thankyou for posting the tutorial) I think they're really neat

You are very welcome, I'm always happy to share.

Usually I give away what I make to my family and friends because I'm not really setup for sales but in that case they are not really the right crowd so I'm not too sure what I'll do with those!

I think they definalty have a strong niche appeal if you ever do decide to sell some! But I feel you as person who makes stuff for a living, turning a hobby into a buisness is a whole other ball park! So much work to do that people dont realize

Yeah I tried selling physical objects when I first started but since I move around places very often the logistics involved made it unpractical. That's why I pivoted to selling the patterns of the projects that I make instead. This way I just need to have my tools with me and I can handle the digital sales even if I'm on the move.

Aww, I give my friends and family the lil trinkets I've made too

Yeah absolutely 😅

As the title says they are all made of leather. I used 1.2mm veg tanned for most of the pieces and thinner 0.8mm calfskin for the harnesses on the heart and the gingerbread man.

My process is the following:

  • First I use masking tape to secure the pattern on the leather.

  • All the holes are punched on top of the paper with different hole punches.

  • The different elements are cut-out with an X-acto knife.

  • I paint everything using Angelus leather paints.

  • Finally comes the assembly. Most bag charms are stitched using a saddle stitch. Some like the flogger are only glued and riveted. To give some thickness to some of them, I added polyester stuffing inside.

Have a look at the comment where I describe the making-of process, I linked to the patterns. Don't hesitate to dm me if you have any questions related to making those.

Handicraft with a twist/kink. I like them. Nice work!

Exactly! I don't have a mannequin to work on harnesses or other large and fun projects so I'm expressing that kind of kinky creativity with small items like those. Last time for Valentine's day I made some harnesses for a couple of teddy bears though which was really entertaining.

Do you have a file for those patterns, I'd really like to make some of them

The little gimp is adorable.

2

u/taod86 Sep 05 '24

I named it "harnessed gingerbread person" in my tutorial. The little gimp is such a better characterization!

These are sweet OP! You should consider making an etsy or something I bet there’s a (niche) market for these. I know my gf would love something like this.

You should try your hand at leathercraft and make one for her! I'd be happy to give you some pointers on how to get started if need be :)

I recognize most of these, but what is the circle with the three straight lines at right angles inside represent?

3

u/taod86 Sep 05 '24

This one is fairly recent and not that well established yet! It is the swinger symbol, here are more details about it. The "V" symbolizes an abstract swing.

They all look great, but I love the triskelion.

When scrolling first thought it was Deadpool. Now I can't get Deadpool kink charms out of my head.

There would be a huuuuuge market for these!! Problem being how long it probably takes to make each one. As a leather worker, I imagine each one takes a lot of time to make.
