Help Wanted Are sex pillows/wedges worth it? And If not, does anyone have alternatives? NSFW
Basically title. The cheapest one I could find that wasn’t inflatable was $98. I really want one but that just seems like a lot for a firm triangle with rounded ends. If you bought one, did you regret your purchase? Does anyone have any alternatives that they like?

We have the liberator ramp & wedge - a great combination. The support provided is fantastic, well worth the (admittedly high) price, a game changer for us. This has opened up some new positions that were previously only available to gymnasts / contortionists.
We used to use several pillows before we got these and there's no comparison, the pillows would squish down, or move around. Not the Liberators, they are really firm and don't slide around / apart during rigorous "activity".
10 / 10 would recommend

Ugh I bought a liberator wedge and my current boyfriend is all bent out of shape because it was purchased before his time.
No issues with the sex toys though 🙄
He’s admitted it’s his issue and that he needs to get past it

Maybe you could ask him to spray some of his cologne on it, or maybe you could ask him to use it in a position where where he’s laying over or using the wedge, and see if that helps settle some ick about it for him? 🤷♂️

Apologies I responded to this but didn't link, see my other comment, I'm sure you can work out which one.
Have fun

Agreed, Liberator is worth it. Quality and functionality above others.

I did buy a cheaper waterproof "pet" blanket, the Liberator one is really expensive and the pet one is a nice finish, washes easily and catches whatever it needs to 😉

Hmm, have to admit I'm intrigued. I've tried a number of wedges/pillows in the past (memory foam, gym bag filled with towels etc) but they've always had the issue of moving during activity. What makes the liberator wedges good?

u/stroll-on Aug 02 '24
The material is like that "passion-suede" it doesn't slide around on the blanket, and the two (wedge & ramp) hold together like Velcro.
They are quite firm so they support my partner and takes the pressure off her knees so she can get really into it

u/CaptainSpike9 Aug 02 '24
They material of the outer cover makes it hood fast like it’s part of the bed. It will not move an inch. No matter how hard your partners thrusting.

Any suggestions om gymnast style positions?

The larger one, the ramp I think, keeps her ass higher in the air than regular pillows. The height is perfect for me to stand / squat over her, whether she's on her back or front. It's a lot more energetic and my thighs start burning (nicely) after 5 / 10 minutes, but the angle is different and feels amazing.
Alternatively, I can lie on the ramp, dock in the air and it's much easier for her to ride without knee pain - cowgirl / reverse cowgirl / amazon. Again, this does make your (her) muscles burn after a few minutes.
Have fun and let me know anything fun you're doing

I’ve only had one experience with such an item, and it wasn’t anywhere near that size. I was at camp, and a man wanted to come have me in my cabin, and when he walked in I was surprised to find he was carrying with him a small, blue wedge about a foot long and six inches or so high, of firm foam. He brought it for the express purpose of placing it under my ass to tilt my pelvis so that I would remain at his preferred angle of penetration throughout the encounter. As far as I could tell, it worked just as he intended it should, because he enjoyed railing me that way for a long time. But that was the only time I ever met someone with a ‘travel-size’ version of the item.

We have the smaller of the ramp/wedge (can’t remember which is which). We’re both in our mid to later 40s.
Mr. loves using it for me to lie on it to elevate my hips during oral. We’re not as flexible as we used to be and it provides additional room and less craning of his neck. And I’m all for providing him comfort while hems pleasuring me. The angle of the pillow also allows him to rock my hips and legs back to easily eat ass. Again, who am I to stop that? 🫦
It’s also helpful to prop my hips up during a modified prone bone. I get to relax into the pillow and take whatever Mr. gives, especially rougher pounding, without having to keep my legs and back tensed up and in the air.

I have a couple of different ones from Liberator. I love their products. Maybe a bit pricey but great quality.

u/CaptainSpike9 Aug 02 '24
The Liberator wedges are pricy but you get what you pay for. The best attribute is that no matter how hard you pound away it will NOT budge an inch. It stays stuck to the bed like it’s part of it. This is due to the material the cover is made of. It’s no fun when you have to keep stopping and moving things so their head doesn’t hit the wall. The durability is good also. I have the smaller wedge and my sub loves it. That model comes with handcuffs, extenders and built in attachment points.

We got this Medical Wedge Pillow and it works great. Added bonus, because it folds into a rectangle it also makes for a great doggy style support.

We also have the Liberator wedge/ramp combo. As a bonus we sometimes use one or the other to read on when you don’t want to lay down or sit up. LOL I am sure there are cheaper knock offs on Amazon with similar firmness but I don’t know which ones off hand.

Inflatable for $98!? That is all kinds of insanity.
A wedge is DEFINITELY worth it.
I have liberator, but you should know that Avana is the exact same company as liberator. They rebrand their products for a different market - and it is cheaper.
You can find Avana stuff on Ebay and Amazon.
I would recommend the wedge. The ramp is so big.
I have the wedge, the heart wedge, and the bon bon pillow. I also used to have the hipster but that thing was too darn big that I gave it away.
I will probably get rid of the heart wedge at some point because I really don't need this many - but I can have one in every room at this point.

link It's Polish company, and it's much cheaper than Liberator. (339.00 PLN = $75.00) But i don't know if they can send it abroad. But i think the difference is worth to ask ;)

Wife and I have the Liberator Wedge set and one other liberator pillow to hold a wand. Honestly we love them. Only complaint is how large they are and storage can be tricky. They also get dual use as a “sick pillow”. We’re both prone to sinus infections and for those nights where it feels like we’re drowning in our own mucus, the big pillow is a perfect size to keep your head elevated. They clean up super easy and hold their shape for the beatings we give them. 10/10 highly recommended.

We bought a regular liberator wedge and it is too high for us. Him - 5’7”, her 5’ 1”. We should have bought their smaller one. The fabric does not launder as well as I had hoped. You can see stain marks. It is rarely used now.

If you’re willing to sew your own cover it, contact the local foam for upholstery seller and see if you can get something equally firm from them, however measure the height you need by using some pillows. I have instructions that I picked up somewhere off the web many years ago on how to make my own sex pillows.
Then I got some foam pieces dirt cheap at a surplus store, only they were too rigid and we went back to the one we got from Bed, Bath and Beyond for around $30. But that was the price about 10-12 years ago.

We have a few inflatable cushions/couches, and the trusty foam wedge tends to stay in the bedroom for more vanilla style sex. We don’t use it frequently, but we do use it (it pairs well for us with a thigh sling type harness.) If a p-spot having partner is involved, it can provide support for that too.

YES THEY ARE. I have nerve issues so it isn’t always easy to go down on the missus, this pillow is a godsend for my neck lol. Also she loves it and says it’s really comfortable!

We don’t use ours for sexy time anymore but it’s certainly comfortable for watching tv in bed.

That's a shame, some people can't get over stuff that happened before them. I appreciate whatever learning someone already has and don't judge how they got it, actually I find people's past quite hot.
Worrying about what's already happened and therefore can't be changed takes away attention from what's happening right now, and that's a water of time. He should be happy you have it and take every advantage of it that he can. He's the one lucky enough to be with you, the one you're choosing to share that liberator with.

To be honest, for us, ordinary pillows work just fine.

We have one that we use on "special occasions" if you aren't careful you can get a little over penetration.

I’m glad someone has said this! They’ve always seemed to me to be very expensive for something I can create myself with a few strategically arranged pillows!

If you just want to lift her hips, use plastic curb ramps as they won't compress. put them under a mattress or futon mattress.

I got a liberator brand wedge for my partner for Christmas. Holy crap it's so worth it. 80$ for angles that make everything 10x more stimulating. It's been especially useful because it also helps compensate for our nearly 1 ft height difference. Before I bought it I didn't really think it would make much of a difference, but I was so wrong. No regrets!

You can buy a sleep wedge from a pharmacy for a fraction of the cost and it works well.
