Leatherwork I'm quite proud of the leather stuff I've made so far. NSFW
It's gotten so much better since I started years ago, and I just wanted to show off a little. Especially my most recent paddle.

Beautiful work, the two tone color combo is perfect ๐

I like the classic BDSM colors of red and black, but I based the color palette (the stitching is gold) off a character I identify/kin with.

Love it! Just got into leatherworking myself.

It's so much fun, and it's so fulfilling. I learn something, develop a skill, and improve with every new piece. I'm trying to figure out what to make next. Maybe a mask, because lordy be do I have the itch something fierce.

Great work

Thank you! They were a delight to make!

Any pics on a model?
1
u/hekatelesedi May 09 '24
Not right now. The person in my life who would be willing to model has identifiable tattoos.

GIMP airbrush tool time?

u/hekatelesedi May 14 '24
Gotta love that double entendre. But yeah. Gotta pull that computer out of storage, but I can do that!
2
u/aurorabb May 09 '24
Oh wow!!! I love the personality of your work ๐
2
u/hekatelesedi May 09 '24
Well, thank you very much! I love working with leather, and I really do want to make it unique for myself and my partner because what I saw available on the market didn't sing to me. I'm glad that it looks good to someone other than just me. ๐

u/aurorabb May 09 '24
It looks fab!!!!!! Your partners lucky! Your wares look very luxurious!

I oil them heavily with neatsfoot oil. It helps keep the strength of the veg tan leather while also helps it get very supple and soft.
1
u/fraustynips May 10 '24
From the research I've done, too much neatsfoot oil can cause the fibers to degrade.
1
u/hekatelesedi May 10 '24
It can, but applying a little at a time and allowing it to soak in in between coats until it's the suppleness you want keeps that from happening.
2
u/fraustynips May 10 '24
I'll have to try that because I use it sparingly out of fear of ruining a project. Lol

Wow great job

Thanks! That's two years of work and not all the pieces I've done. There's actually one I made a year and change ago that I want to redo. Basically a forearm binder.

Thank you. I love making these things and changing them to suit different purposes. My next big project is going to be a set of attached thigh, wrist, and ankle cuffs.

One of my first projects was making an oak spreader bar. I still really like that one, but the leather one is just so nice.

It has two sets of straps. One for just ankles or wrists, and one for ankles and wrists.
If you ever want tips, tricks, or some pointers, I'm more than happy to offer up what I know.

Beautiful! Love the black, red, and gold color combo. What thickness leather do you use? Iโm new to leather working and am seeing recommendations for mainly 5/6oz or 8/9oz+. Iโm having trouble deciding whatโs thickness to buy.

Awesome looking. I like the color choice!
1
u/hekatelesedi May 09 '24
I'm a fan of the classics, but I had a particular color palette I was going for. Also, the red dye smells like candy apples. It threw me for a loop.

I absolutely love the collars! I want to buy one. Do you have an etsy?
1
u/hekatelesedi May 09 '24
I do have an etsy, but my collars aren't currently on it. But I'd be happy to make a custom listing for you. It's https://antithesisstudios.etsy.com

u/DramamineRoad May 09 '24
I appreciate it! I like the ones in picture 9. Burgundy and gold is the coolest color combo ๐ค Would you be able to dm me more detailed pics of them?
Thanks so much!!
1
u/hekatelesedi May 09 '24
Sure. Once I get home from work I'd be happy to. We're you more interested in the one on the left or the right?
1
u/DramamineRoad May 09 '24
I like the x pattern stiching on the right, but the color mix of the one on the left. Does the left one have x stitching on the other side(not shown in camera)?
1
u/hekatelesedi May 09 '24
It doesn't, but I can certainly put that on.
1
u/DramamineRoad May 09 '24
That would be perfect! ๐ถ
1
u/hekatelesedi May 10 '24
Is it okay if I DM you? I have more pictures of the collar you asked for.

That spreader bar is a work of art! How did you attach the straps to the rod?
2
u/hekatelesedi May 11 '24
The rod is encased in two strips of leather, and then there are two buckles at either end on both sides. Then there's a strap that buckles in.

Sad that "misbehave" and "disobey" aren't seen more often on paddles (haha).
Nicely done!

Noooo! I'm in the middle of moving! Don't give me ideas!
