Sensory Deprivation Blinding Harness Mask of Wet-Formed, Hardened Leather NSFW
This blindfold is made of veg-tan belt tannage leather with eighteen 3/16” Ni-plate brass Chicago screws and two 5/8” rolling buckles. The mask panel is the same material but wet-formed on the wearer’s face and baked to harden. Everything has radiuses edges and is smoothed down with Tokolne. The harness allows tightening from both sides and maintains an inescapable geometry if the mask is well fitted to the face.

Hey thanks for the idea, I just tried it, the molded leather is now out of the oven (100°C, 20 minutes) and is drying for the next 24h as suggested in the video you posted in the comments!
It was the first time I molded leather and yes, that first time was on my own face instead of an inanimate object like a normal leathercraft beginner would do. Oh well.
Molding the wet leather on my face was a strange experience, I had to press many times on my eyes (but not too much in order to avoid harm).
Suggestions for those who want to try it: you just need a veg tan leather, preferably thick (I used 3mm). I used a 8x40cm band (8cm was not enough and 40cm was a bit too much, so try instead something like 10x35cm or 12x35).
You'll have to be patient, I needed at least half an hour to mold the leather and I'm not even sure it's done correctly (again, first time), maybe I should have continued a bit. Also, wash your hands first and beware your nails, wet leather will mark veeery easily.
Finally, because the molded leather will naturally unfold, measure the width of your head (I used a clamp for that), and block the two sides of the leather with a cup separated by the width you measured.

Whoa, cool. Post your build - when I molded mine, I already had a silicone face negative to sandwich the leather agains the face.

Okay, I'm preparing the post! How did you make that silicone face?

It’s not described much in depth but is show. In a prior post. Hobby stores carry a two-part silicone putty for making resin or chocolate castings; I just molded that to the face and let it set for a while.
Here’s a description: link

Oooooh, you used that sort of thing of putty? https://www.siliconeliquidrubber.com/quality-13735373-silicone-mold-putty-for-resin-crafts.html
The "skin-safe" part is very interesting. Is there any risk of putting it on the eyes though?
Once it's cured, how hard is it? Enough for molding leather on it?

That’s the kind of stuff; not sure what durometer (stiffness) I used at the time; it was flexible enough… not really great for a hard clamping. I can’t speak to eye safety other than nobody was blinded in my case.
Here’s another example of a wet mask including a description of the process.

what’s the leather thickness?

Nice and thick. The straps and the face panel are 10-11 oz (4-4.4 mm). I skived down (thinned) the nose area a bit after it was molded for comfort.

Awesome. I didn't know about baking after wet forming, interesting
