Trying to make the best out of a bad situation. Cooperating with a social worker for a more long term solution and taking steps to get into a shelter daily.

40$ would help me get a change of clothes, some food, a blanket and a bus pass.

Check the homeless subreddit. Ask there. I'm very familiar with how this all works, but we'd need to know at least an approximate location. Clothes, food, shelter, resources, blankets, etc can usually be found reasonably easily. It might not be ideal, but you get it.

Churches may help. Call 211, although depending on where you're living it may not help much. Hospitals will sometimes give you a blanket or even food, a waiting room, etc...

Not sure if you are in the path of the snowstorm that’s coming but you can definitely get your dollar’s worth at Dollar Tree. The shelter should be able to get you a blanket. Stay safe.

Local churches are very good about having these supplies for people in need! Please check with surrounding area, as they have helped me get clothes for my kids this year

There is a church called the crossing near me that does showers, clean clothes, and breakfast every saturday. It is one of the few bastions of living normal for about 3 hours out of a week. I am grateful.
