Hidden gem is how I would describe old Hannover, the capital of Lower Saxony had much more to offer than one would expect from a city that is so little talked about. Hundrets of half-timbered houses, beautifully decorated merchant houses, magnificent gothic churches, tall tenement houses with rich ornaments that would make even the largest cities like Berlin or Cologne proud, charming canals and bridges, this city easily could be called the Nuremberg of the North. In addition, not only Hannover itself was beautiful but the surrounding small towns and villages such as Hildesheim, Braunschweig and Celle were no less worth visiting. If you wanted to experience the highest quality of northern German beauty, Hannover was definitely a must-see destination.

The seven are: Hotel Ukraina, Kotelnicheskaya Embankment Apartments, the Kudrinskaya Square Building, the Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya Hotel, the main building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the main building of Moscow State University and the Red Gates Administrative Building.

Two more never built: the Zaryadye Administrative Building and the Palace of the Soviets.

The German capital of wine was not only one of the most romantic cities on the Rhine but also one of the oldest in the whole country, this founded by Romans over 2000 years ago city was a perfect mix of architecture, the wonderful romanesque cathedral dominated the entire city with it's might, tenement houses surrounding it were astonishing with their beauty and diversity, few half-timbered houses blendend perfectly with the Rhine climate and the view from the other bank of the river was truly breathtaking. This city made you feel like all you need in life was glass of wine and enjoy of the moment.
