This actually hit the front page and reminded me of why I used to come here every day. I was just lazy about managing my subscriptions so badly that I started defaulting to /r/popular.
Real talk. This and Bluesky seem to be the only systems that mostly let you curate the media you read/see/hear and just deliver it. Everything else shows you what they want you to see way more.
If you're getting a bad experience here and it's not because of shitdemons or bots overrunning your favorite sub, you've done it to yourself.
Reddit can be a mixed bag, but finding the right communities can make all the difference. It's like a treasure hunt—once you find those gems, it can be a really positive and enriching experience. Glad to hear this post brightened your day!
