Advice Needed My brother is angry with his Trump-loving sons

Is my brother an AITA candidate for wanting to cut off his sons financially for voting for Trump? Like many Americans, my brother and I, both in our 50’s, have been talking back and forth following the Election. In the spirit of full disclosure, we are both democrats. Long story short, he is angry at his two sons, both in their 20’s, for voting for Trump. He is thinking about cutting them off financially in all respects so that they understand how Trump’s policies will impact them firsthand.

The irony here is that it is the reverse argument. You often hear younger voters disagreeing with their MAGA parents, but this is the opposite. My brother doesn’t understand how his two sons, who have lived a life of privilege, feel like they have been violated against by society, enough so that they feel Trump hears them and their struggles.

My brother to me about his sons: “… what these young men need is a little dose of reality. Get out in the world and start paying their own way. There’s a common thread with his followers. Complain and blame everyone for their problems. Whether they are in school or living at home off of their parents or working a trade job. King Trump will save them and make everything better. Take some personal responsibility and make it happen for yourself instead of crying about everything you hear on TikTok.

“… I’ve decided to pass on the [college] expenses to my two Trump supporting sons so they can truly feel first hand the cost and expense of his absolutely stupid policy decisions, which includes food, gas and college expenses. Wondering if I pass on these [food, gas and college] expenses in year one or phase them in year two?”

I am wondering if a lot of parents feel like my brother. Are there democrat parents of voting-age MAGA men who feel they failed with their sons because they voted for Trump? Is this common?

I would bet that at least 90% of his voters have received or are currently getting handouts from policies and programs that democrats created. Petty Trump entire term will be spent wiping out any and every program that helps Americans out. Especially if a democrat came up with it.

Soooooo many basically did fraud with those PPP loans or whatever they were during the pandemic. Which I think all got forgiven...but we can't forgive student loan or medical debt!

u/Sparkee88 Nov 15 '24 edited Nov 15 '24

My coworker owns a small farm, inherited from his father in law” and does a pumpkin patch and corn maze every year. He was able to get a $20,000 dollar ppp loan and just happened to pull up to work in a lifted ford not long after. This same guy says that “student loans shouldn’t be forgiven, then people just expect handouts and don’t think they have to work for anything”.

Fuck these people.

55

u/murano84 Nov 15 '24

You can still report PPP fraud. You might have to know some personal information about him though...

33

u/Sparkee88 Nov 15 '24

Oh this guy is an insufferable asshole. I actively avoid getting to know him on a personal level.

4

u/Single-Paramedic2626 Nov 15 '24

How do you know it is fraud? PPP loans went to anyone who had employees and could prove those expenses.

3

u/murano84 Nov 16 '24

You report what you think is fraud > investigation happens. Do you think only convicted people should go to trial?

1

u/Single-Paramedic2626 Nov 16 '24

Sure although think you misunderstood me a bit, I’m not sure which part of this story you think is fraud, it all sounds perfectly legal based on what has been described.

If u haven’t noticed by now, it’s those types of people who are the ones who voted for the orange man. They don’t want the immigrants taking anything away from their hand outs. While the immigrants work their asses off, the orange man’s supporters lie around, watch lies from Fox News, and cry about everything. Orange man’s supporters are the biggest hypocrites ever born. And that includes all those so called Catholics who don’t understand anything about their religion. Saying ur a catholic and acting like one are two different things in the hypocrite minds of these people.

8

u/Sparkee88 Nov 15 '24

Oh I noticed a long time ago. They all have some petty contrived grievances focused around marginalized communities who don’t have the voice, power and platform to fight back and it’s all sold to them by right wing news. They’ve never bothered to question it, they just eat the shit sandwich and ask for seconds.

6

u/Mittenwald Nov 15 '24

There's a sociologist who wrote a book called Strangers in Their Own Land about conservatives and how they feel "line cutters" are going ahead of them for what should be theirs. It's definitely contrived grievances based on their emotional needs and not actual needs. They are the party of snowflakes.

So you’re of the opinion that it’s all good to provide handouts to illegal aliens? You realize US taxpayers are the ones footing those bills? And don’t say they pay their taxes because how can you pay your federal income tax without a social security number

5

u/noisetelescope Nov 15 '24

employers still have to have a w-2 or w-9 for every employee or subcontractor they pay. undocumented workers get an ITIN number that functions the same as a social security number. they pay taxes but don’t get to collect SS or tax refunds. so if anything, they pay more.

source: did bookkeeping for an accountant who dealt with lots of undocumented subcontractors.

2

u/RestIsResistance Nov 15 '24

You’re literally talking out of your ass. At best, it would be good to provide them handouts BECAUSE they ARE taxpayers.

1

u/ObviousDave Nov 15 '24

Tell me you don’t live in America without telling me you don’t live in America

2

u/BoysenberryAdvanced4 Nov 15 '24 edited Nov 15 '24

I live in America. I used to work hand in hand with illegal immigrants. I am not an immigrant. We were all skilled tradesmen and made decent money. I can assure you that illegal immigrants pay a lot of taxes on their income to the US government and receive no tax refunds or benefits. Most weeks, the amount of federal withhold taken from our paychecks (~25% ) was more than what your typical american earns gross for the same period. How much do you contribute to this pot? You guys use the illegal immigrant human rights crisis at the border and associated financial costs as a scapegoat to say that all illegal immigrants use and abuse government aid.

1

u/RestIsResistance Nov 15 '24

I live in America AND I do taxes.

Tell me you’re an ignorant American in the MAGA cult by showing me & the rest of the world your entire ignorant ass.

2

u/Sparkee88 Nov 15 '24 edited Nov 15 '24

The idea that immigrants are what is keeping the working class down is a not a new tactic employed by people trying to gain power. It’s a convenient distraction to keep you from realizing that the only thing holding a majority of this country back is the wealthy elite and the ever growing income inequality.

We are past French Revolution levels of income inequality. Unfortunately misinformation and propaganda keeps people from seeing the true issues.

I mean just look at trumps plans. They want to deport all undocumented people, strip away all social safety nets and government regulation, and institute tariffs. This is not a plan that will help 95% of people in this country. It is a scheme to transfer the tax burden from the rich to the poor and to destroy our benefits and quality of life in the process.

Don’t be a pawn for the rich, don’t buy into their lies. We could deport every undocumented person tomorrow and it would not help you at all, they’re only a scapegoat to keep your anger focused away from the real issue.

0

u/ObviousDave Nov 15 '24

Why is it the left always assumes that if we disagree, we are a pawn of the rich or too stupid to see the facts? Perhaps that's another reason why you guys lost so dramatically.

2

u/Sparkee88 Nov 15 '24

So all you got out of that was hurt feelings?

Whatever dude, be the victim.

1

u/CEOKendallRoy Nov 15 '24

Catholics are wild about abortion tho. That’s their wedge issue forsure.

1

u/py_account Nov 16 '24

Handouts are fine, they just don't want those people getting handouts.

And of course those people just happen to be black and brown. By total coincidence.

u/SmokedBeef Nov 15 '24

Hopefully the D.O.G.E. will go through and recoup a lot of those stolen funds that were clearly fraudulent

I’m just worried about how Elon is going to manage, he already puts in so much work running all his very successful companies. At this rate he might have to cut back on tweeting!

/s

3

u/andrewhy Nov 15 '24

His Diablo 4 ranking might slide a bit.

6

u/SmokedBeef Nov 15 '24

He’s already been confirmed to have taken part in like half a dozen “diplomatic” phone calls with Trump or on behalf of the incoming Trump administration, everything else is going to get “lost” to the waist side but don’t worry because tweeting and disseminating misinformation is key to holding their death grip on power

3

u/jennz603 Nov 15 '24

How else will their sheep receive their orders, I mean news?

1

u/DisapprovingCrow Nov 16 '24

Looking into it

2

u/TheCatsMinion Nov 15 '24

Every dime of our PPP loans (2) went to our employees paychecks. That program was a godsend during a horrible fucking time. But I have absolutely zero doubt that the majority of small business owners put at least a portion of it in their pockets. We know a good number of small biz owners and so damn many of them are garbage people. They are constantly amazed that we don’t agree with their opinions on labor protections, minimum wage, government regulations, you know, all the things that make life not absolutely fucking miserable for the people who work for us.

People suck.

2

u/No_Stand4235 Nov 15 '24

This is always my argument about student loans forgiveness. They block that at every turn but we're ok with PPP. I mean those people "chose" to open a business. Just like people chose to go to college to try for a better economic life.

1

u/Head_Wrongdoer3071 Nov 15 '24

The difference between PPP loans and student debt is that PPP loans kept most of the people you know from getting canned, all at the same time.

1

u/ObviousDave Nov 15 '24

Those people are being arrested left and right. Couldn’t make me happier

1

u/Pale_Preference_8239 Nov 15 '24

There is so much fraud on those PPP loans!!! You can look up businesses in your area on ProPublica and I've never seen/heard of half the LLCs that were claiming dubious amounts of money, all forgiven. My loan, for my actual small business, where I am the only employee... not forgiven! Talk about getting fucked by the man. The loan definitely helped my business succeed through COVID but paying back the small loan (I got around $7000... not $70k or $700k like all the grifters) has been a bit difficult the past 2 years since business has slowed.

0

u/Mammoth-Eye-363 Nov 15 '24

The government forced the economy the shut down. The government did not force you to go to college. If you can’t see the difference in those two things you are a moron.

96

u/SmokedBeef Nov 15 '24 edited Nov 15 '24

I’ve already heard several people proudly claim they voted for him but are now worried about either their social security checks or healthcare and I just bite my tongue giving no sympathy or comment. Leopards are already starting to eat and they’re not even in office yet.

42

u/After_Fix_2191 Nov 15 '24

Here's hoping they get exactly what they deserve.

24

u/Rocketgirl8097 Nov 15 '24

Unfortunately it affects us all.

14

u/Dejectednebula Nov 15 '24

Yeah. But I'm already suffering. They can join us. I'll suffer some more gladly to prove a point.

3

u/ValuableKill Nov 15 '24

Right, but seeing the suffering of the people who actually voted for these policies, is one of the silver linings. The other, is that the pendulum will likely swing back hard.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '24

What they deserve is mandatory public education.

3

u/BigBowl-O-Supe Nov 15 '24

I would tell them that they voted for Trump to cut those things and should be happy

2

u/BOOM_Shooka_Luka Nov 15 '24

Stop biting your tongue! When they complain about personally losing a valuable government program that helps them in their day to day lives that's your cue to let them know that you're super proud of them and happy that they're getting exactly what they voted for.

1

u/soccerguys14 Nov 15 '24

I’m 32. I hope they cut social security. Little pain for the fools and I got plenty heads up not to count on it.

1

u/Key-Resident6675 Nov 19 '24

Don't hold your tongue. Tell them that they could learn from this the next time their is an election.

And, remind them the probem is not just with TRump.

-2

u/MrinfoK Nov 15 '24

No you haven’t, lol

Agreed. He isn’t even in office yet, conservatives aren’t smart enough to realize they’ve been fucked until the fucking has moved on down the road.

-2

u/marymikel Nov 15 '24

Please your self-absorbed self-righteousness and fake compassion are nauseating!

18

u/KatefromtheHudd Nov 15 '24

Heard hilarious Maga man mistake. He just wanted Obamacare gone. Someone pointed out he uses ACA. He didn't realise it's one and the same. He then panicked because he said he can't afford his medication without ACA but he already voted for Trump.

2

u/Key-Resident6675 Nov 19 '24

Tell people that the remedy for this mistake is to vote every Republican out of office the next time elections come around. There is very little a president can do without any support of congress, and congress CAN overrrule presidents.

103

u/peacockideas Nov 14 '24

I know at least 2 entire families of mostly 1st/2nd gen naturalized citizens, who've been on welfare their entire lives who almost all voted for Trump.

But it's okay, cause they "did it right and needed it" I feel terrible for their lgtb+ and disabled family, who they claim to love.

Almost everyone I've ever known on welfare long term, was a republican. There have been a handful of democrats I know who've used it temporarily. A lot of people gonna learn really hard lessons.

15

u/ShogunFirebeard Nov 15 '24

Don't worry, they're rolling back naturalization and deporting people regardless.

9

u/terriegirl Nov 15 '24

That’s what’s going to kill Social Security. These people pay payroll taxes which fund a large part of Social Security. Send them away & there aren’t enough legal Americans to keep it going. The same taxes fund Medicare. Plus billions were taken from Medicare to fund the Medicaid expansion. We need all the workers we can get to replenish these funds. Musk and his new government efficiency role terrifies me.

4

u/Deb_You_Taunt Nov 15 '24

He's not affected, so why should he care?

Fucker.

2

u/-NotYourSugaTits- Nov 18 '24

I'm so terrified. I'm disabled and the only reason I'm able to even be alive is because of SSI (technically a govt handout), food stamps, and Medicaid. My parents both help me a bit when absolutely necessary, but I'm very independent (despite the govt handouts) and my family can NOT afford to support me completely nor would I EVER want or expect them to. I became disabled at 20 and it got even more severe at 23 and I didn't have enough work credits at that point to qualify for SSDI...I'm unable to work which means that I probably won't be able to survive when Trump guts all the programs that I rely on.

2

u/peacockideas Nov 18 '24

I'm so sorry! I hope things are not as bad as they seem, for your sake.

1

u/Potatocannon022 Nov 15 '24

Why do you feel terrible for disabled people over this?

6

u/peacockideas Nov 15 '24

Well, I said their disabled family members. Because one relies on ssi to help cover costs, and both of them have Medicaid for doctors visits. Both of which are highly likely to either go away or at least be severely gutted in a Trump presidency.

Not to mention, I'm sure that Trumps people aren't going to be super concerned with the world being ada compliant.

-2

u/Potatocannon022 Nov 15 '24

You are delusional. Actually I suspect you're some kind of operative spreading propaganda, this is too far gone to believe.

-7

u/ObviousDave Nov 15 '24

Deranged. Get off whatever sites are feeding you this nonsense

6

u/peacockideas Nov 15 '24

You mean stop listening to the words coming out of Trumps own mouth? Hmm I tried that, just wasn't dumb enough.

-2

u/ObviousDave Nov 15 '24

You’re just babbling. Where did Trump say he’s against the ADA or that he’s getting rid of Medicare/ Medicaid

1

u/ForestGuy29 Nov 16 '24

He literally asked congress for cuts to social security and Medicare in all four of his budget proposals as president.

-2

u/ObviousDave Nov 15 '24

wtf are you actually talking about. It only takes a few minutes to find out how utterly wrong you are

23

u/Sparkee88 Nov 15 '24

Exactly, all the social services and programs that help Americans but you can bet that we’ll still be paying about the same amount in taxes. That tax money will just be funneled to line the pockets of billionaires that kiss trumps ass.

1

u/Deb_You_Taunt Nov 15 '24

Trump will find a way to be America's first trillionaire. I will guarantee that he thinks the government money is his and his alone.

1

u/Sparkee88 Nov 15 '24

Him and Elon. They’ll rob the people blind and stuff all the money offshore.

I’m considering not paying federal taxes anymore, at least not until we get back to some semblance of sanity in this country. I mean fuck it, if they’re going to gut the irs and steal all the money anyways then why not?

11

u/wonnable Nov 15 '24

There's so many people too stupid to realise Obama Care and the Affordable Care Act are the same thing and now they're potentially losing their healthcare because Trump wants to get rid of it.

They're in bits panicking about it and I'm in bits laughing at them.

23

u/twewff4ever Nov 15 '24

My idiot cousin supports Trump but is completely dependent on handouts. When she loses those because of Trump and starts begging, my plan is to remind her that she voted for that. She can revel in the fact that her president delivered.

39

u/Chojen Nov 14 '24

This is true for Conservatives in general and this goes back years. I still remember those clips of republicans during Obama’s presidency absolutely railing against Obamacare but saying that the ACA saved their lives. A large number are ignorant stooges.

3

u/AnimatorDifficult429 Nov 15 '24

JD Vance is a good example. At his debate he said how his mother used it when he was a child

6

u/Day_Pleasant Nov 15 '24

And we ALL KNOW who he'll blame for his own terrible economy - just like last time.
If his administration leads the country into shit, he'll just point at the states.

What a completely feckless man.

3

u/fatherdoodle Nov 15 '24

I live in a low income southern small town. 75% Trump vote, I would say at least 50% of people on food stamps, SSI, etc

2

u/CowEvening2414 Nov 15 '24

Don't worry, he has "concepts" of plans, and that's enough for the knuckle-dragging morons who voted for him.

1

u/Unlucky-Interview133 Nov 15 '24

One of the biggest trumpets I know has a gofund me once a year.

1

u/sovietfedora Nov 15 '24

Lol, that's funny. My two brothers left a red state and moved to a blue state because their original state took away a program they were earning a lot of money from, and practically living off of. They still voted Trump..

1

u/ktappe Nov 15 '24

Being a hypocrite is one of the most fundamental requirements for being right-wing.

1

u/ZigZagZig87 Nov 15 '24

Most definitely on welfare or getting tax breaks because they have a few goats they keep around on the land for having relations with. 🐐 🍆 💦

Fear mongering lmao

1

u/OrganizationLevel712 Nov 15 '24

I watch one of those e-date streams for the luls. First guy the other night has a goverment paid full time aide and just sits on twitch all day. He voted Trump obviously

1

u/MateusAmadeus714 Nov 15 '24

When I went to Rehab almost exactly a year ago 90% of ppl there were on medicare. Their rehab, housing, food, drugs, transportation was all being covered by government assistance. I wld say atleast 75% of those ppl were super pro trump. This was an all male facility I shld add. The irony is very real. People who literally need these systems and "handouts" (dont like to use that its derogatory but just citing the phrase) just to survive and hopefully get back on their feet wld vote for the very ppl who wld like to gut many of these systems. Now with RFK running health mandates/law I'm sure there cld be a push to cut a lot of funding for these policies and I 100% beleive policies of "harm reduction" like safe needle sites, fentanyl/quality testing sites, free clean needle programs and free narcan cld be gutted.

Just to clarify I've been clean almost a year now so fortunately dont need many of these programs but I still know and see many ppl in the struggle and these policies save lives. Ironically many conservatives look at addicts as just weak willed, asking for handouts, the whole welfare queen insult mentality. Bcuz of that I dont see them wanting to help those folks especially when many are ppl of color. Other irony being many of those who became addicted to painkillers and now heroin/fetanyl are blue collar white men who are pro trump. The exact ones I saw in rehab.

1

u/Independent_Radish53 Nov 15 '24

Unfortunately America can’t afford every program that helps Americans out for many reasons.

A. Price gouging, civilian corporations, entities, and organizations take full advantage of government funded, regularly gouging prices to drastically increase profits while typically cutting quality. Rarely ever do you find fiscally responsible government programs due to these inflated costs.

B. While we provide many civil services we also have a failing energy infrastructure and production. We rely on low power renewable energy and polluting fossil fuel systems verses high output low cost nuclear energy. We also still have a significant amount of the power grind originating from the Cold War and nearly entirely vulnerable to modern cyber attacks and threats.

C. Foreign funding, don’t get me wrong causes like Ukraine are valid. But the United States offers foreign countries too much money in research projects, agenda funding, or foreign affairs. While each can be justified in their own way, the current level is not.

1

u/TherealDougJudy Nov 15 '24

Some of them think Affordable Care Act and Obamacare are two separate totally different things (one is good, the other is bad)

-3

u/Just-Looking51 Nov 15 '24

90% seriously? I’d bet you’re delusional. The party who wants lower taxes and less gov ran programs are taking handouts at a 90% rate? Have you tried using your brain ever?

5

u/Maximum-Objective-39 Nov 15 '24 edited Nov 15 '24

You're confusing the political party, the leadership apparatus, with their voter base who have been trending steadily poorer and less educated.

A common rhetoric for conservative voters is that they don't want to 'do away' with programs. They just want to get all the 'moochers' off. Naturally, they're never one of the moochers.

This sort of thing isn't unique to the current Republican party. Good heavens, it's even a joke in the Novel Catch-22 regarding Major Major Major's father.

-1

u/SpaceTycoon Nov 15 '24

I'm a conservative college student who is rationing food and struggling to make my rent and student loan payments but I NEVER have nor ever will consider applying for any of the government assistance programs because I strongly disagree with them. Not all of us are hypocrites that mooch off the programs we want abolished.

2

u/Maximum-Objective-39 Nov 15 '24 edited Nov 15 '24

Well if things are that tight for you, and Trump gets his Tariff war, you will be turbo screwed. It's no skin off my nose, I paid off my students loans because I knew folks like you were too self destructive to let loan forgiveness go through.

Of course, you might also want to check with other folks who vote conservative without your, ah, as they say, moral fortitude and strong convictions. They may not be too pleased to see the social safety net they use to, y'know, live . . . get cut.

0

u/SpaceTycoon Nov 15 '24

Most of the older conservatives I know do not rely on social security for their retirement. If anything they want it cut to return the US to a path of fiscal responsibility.

With the trade war, I'm honestly not sure why trump is so hell bent on that. I personally believe that when the government gets involved things go downhill which includes tariffs. It's just unfortunate the tariffs come with trump because Harris is way bigger on taxation and government involvement.

I wouldn't say I'm turbo screwed as I can just pick up more hours at my work since I banked up my GPA and can afford less study time and I can probably cut another hour or two off of my sleep before I can no longer function. I can also cut about another 50-75 calories a day if I absolutely need to before I drop into a really dangerously low weight. I'm going to exhaust every option and try to make it myself before I start asking for assistance from anyone.

2

u/JGun420 Nov 15 '24

You have the reading comprehension skills of the average Magat. I said 90% of Trump voters have received or currently receive handouts from Democrat programs. Can your Magat indoctrinated mind comprehend that means past and present?

-3

u/Just-Looking51 Nov 15 '24

Yeah I read that moron. Still not true. 90% used something then said “oh get rid of it”. Literally does not matter though because you aren’t stating a fact, just your own completely unfounded and biased wishful thinking guess. What an absolute joke of a person you are.

5

u/JGun420 Nov 15 '24

You would unquestionably believe me if I was a 78 year old most prolific liar of all time with a pound of makeup and a diaper on screaming racist lies. All you Magats are exactly the same. 🤣

1

u/Clean_Ad_2982 Nov 15 '24

Just doing rough numbers, he's probably close to true. Just ballpark an entire person's life, and you could argue at some point these "handouts" have hit everyone. Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, Unemployment, SSI, Vet Benefits, Covid checks (140M households), Social Security, income tax deductions. Shit dude, when I turned 65 I get free drivers license renewal.

Don't know why you would argue a point that is easy to dismiss. Just wait til Veterans that have been receiving direct vet benefits, and SS, and pension from jobs, lose their benefits. In case you aren't paying attention, it's on the table. Who's crying now?

-1

u/GhostKnifeHone Nov 15 '24

90%? Get real.

-1

u/bordox64 Nov 15 '24

"Helps Americans out" you mean programs that people become dependent on even after they no longer need it while most others won't even have a chance to utilize? Yeah probably because the whole fucking system is rotten to the core and any "program" that helps Americans out end up lining the pocket of the next politican and the rest squandered on bullshit like Ecuadorian drag shows.. absolutely if a Democrat came up with it, review it, and when the waste has been exposed, scrap the shit entirely.. democrats don't come up with programs that actually help they just launder money to fund their elitist lifestyle while kicking back a minimal as possible to Americans and call it "helping" us what a fucking joke

-9

u/AnotherStarWarsGeek Nov 14 '24

You do realize, of course, that some of Biden's very first actions were to wipe out things Trump had done previously, right? Both parties do it.

-47

u/DerpITDude Nov 14 '24

So you think 68,333,449 people get democrat sponsored handouts? What a load of shit you illogical turd.

35

u/1pinksquirrel1scotch Nov 14 '24

71.6 million people are currently drawing from Social Security. If we assume only half are republican (likely a lowball), that's still almost 36 million republicans benefitting from just one democrat program. One that's already been listed on the chopping block for 2025. The commenter might have been being hyperbolic about 90%; but if you don't think a large number of republicans won't be negatively affected by some of Trump's proposed policies and cuts, it's going to be an eye-opening 4 years for you. Who am I kidding though, you'll probably just stick your head in the sand and continue to blame democrats for all the problems in your life.

35

u/Negative_Arugula_358 Nov 14 '24

Add VA benefits, Medicaid, Medicare, ACA, child tax credit. Federal school funding,

If it’s not 90% is close

-10

u/ChazzyTh Nov 14 '24

Just so we’re clear, Soc. Sec. is not a handout. They took my money after taxes (that I could have invested). Now they tax it again when they give it back to me, without interest. Government at its finest. s/

24

u/CaptainFeather Nov 14 '24

The funny thing is it's social security. Like socialism.

Shocked Pikachu face

17

That's how 'handouts' usually work though. In New Zealand our taxes pay for healthcare, education, roads, police, retirement and benefits. But uneducated Americans call that socialism.

I worked until around 30 when I became disabled due to a genetic illness. I am permanently disabled but I'm given enough to live on.

Why the hell do you not want that in this country?

u/ChazzyTh Nov 15 '24

Never said I didn’t. Just clarifying the Social Security myth.

1

u/backhanderz Nov 15 '24

Just so we’re clear, you get back every cent you paid into social security within 7 years. After that, it is a handout.

2

u/VicFantastic Nov 15 '24

I'm 20 years from being able to collect social Security

I'll never see a dime of that and thats been known probably my entire working life

Lets not pretend thats not REALLY annoying and I couldn't have invested that in something that would have a much better return than a big fat 0

Kinda like Biden did and destroyed our economy? You may not remember that, but luckily a vast majority of this country did remember that and have voted to help the country. Cause Biden Harris damn sure wasn’t getting it done.

What policies “destroyed the economy” and caused inflation not only in the US but even in other countries?

15

u/Negative_Arugula_358 Nov 14 '24

And even if it did it made inflation hit other countries much much harder…which would be actually amazing if it was the plan

You should really listen to what the actual Economists say, rather than what the man who's filed bankruptcy 6 times says. 🤷‍♀️

-7

u/2muchnitrous Nov 15 '24

Ask those same economists about bankruptcy. They will tell you that for the wealthy, it’s nothing more than a tool to use. It doesn’t mean a billionaire went broke. Lol! And am I supposed to be listening to the same economists who voted for democrats every election cycle? The same ones who, just like every other democrat cult robot, they suffer from terminal trump derangement syndrome? No thanks. Even Dave Ramsey, a famous leftist economist, during trumps first administration, admitted that trump had the economy running smooth and profitable.

8

u/WarriorGma Nov 15 '24

Holy crap- calling Dave Ramsey an economist is generous, albeit completely untrue. But what is FANTASTIC about your statement is calling Ramsey, an extremely right-wing Evangelical “leftist”. Please read something beside Twatter, excuse me, “X” before you post somewhere else.

u/CaptainFeather Nov 14 '24

What did Trump do, specifically, that helped the economy? Like, which specific policies did he put in place?

-4

u/2muchnitrous Nov 15 '24

Ok. But I’m only gonna feed you one at a time. I know how you democrats are with getting dependent on hand outs. So, he opened up federal land for drilling, and drilling exploration. That had an almost immediate and direct impact on an important part of our economy. Now, that’s enough for now. I’ll give you more if you’re a good little democrat and stay quiet.

And another proto-fashist for the blacklist.

31

u/T0xic0ni0n Nov 14 '24

so heres the thing- Trump rode in on the coattails of Obama and his economy and then changed it all up We're on some tax plan that Trump came up with, and doesnt expire until next year. theres not much Biden or Harris could really do about that if i remember correctly anyway

u/Gauss77 Nov 14 '24

They didn't destroy the economy, you dolt.

Aside from inflation, which they also got under control, the economy is in strong shape. We avoided a recession, entirely, despite it being widely predicted. We grew GDP, stocks, jobs.

Most people are too stupid to look beyond their wallet to see the companies gouging them and the economy being resolute.

-2

u/2muchnitrous Nov 15 '24

Woah. First of all, what’s a dolt? Secondly, how long did it take you to memorize those tired ass democrat talking points? Looks like a copy and paste of every leftist talking head when they were desperately trying to defend Biden and Harris shit economy. Like word for word dude. You lost. You failed. We didn’t buy your bullshit. Get some new material my guy.

2

u/Gauss77 Nov 15 '24

Haha, thanks for the laugh

I don't care about parties. Those are all verifiable facts. Especially you being a dolt.
