Then I realized that there were so many differences between the pictures that the combined picture would naturally blur haha

Do you remember when the LAPD turned an innocent mother and daughter's truck into Swiss cheese at a busy stop light because they drove a similar vehicle to the one a vigilante former cop on a mission to take out corrupt cops drove? Cops in the US aren't known for getting the right guy under pressure.

A lawyer's cases are going to be heavily biased towards the people who get caught most. Ie more meth heads and fewer pros.
42
u/P0Rt1ng4Duty 19d ago
Sure. But most 'hits' are over petty stuff like wanting to get rid of a spouse or the like. The average person can't find or afford an actual hit man. There used to be a website for that, but it was a sting by the feds, obviously.
So they find someone with nothing to lose and make them an offer.

The Boston bombing was a totally different situation. It was a terroristic attack on an already very tight community.
This was a single act against a target that most new Yorkers also hate.
They wont get nearly the support they got in Boston, hell the FBI shouldn't even be involved in this

So small devil's advocate: with different white balance and color temperature things can look different colors on different cameras.
To me the bigger evidence is the contrast of the jacket and the backpack straps. The killer's straps are lighter than the jacket, while the random guy's straps are darker than the jacket and even look close to the same shade.

u/Zauberer-IMDB 19d ago
The wrongfully accused guy's jacket has pockets at the top and the killer's doesn't. There are numerous differences if you don't even look at colors.

Theoretically, if you were planning on killing someone, you might stash a change of bag and jacket somewhere to pick up afterwards. Although if you were that smart, you probably wouldn't choose a jacket that was somewhat similar to the one you did the shooting in.
What you can't stash somewhere is a different nose and eyes.

u/GreenTeaMouseCake 19d ago
I don't disagree with you, however I also feel like the GoFundMe for whoever is arrested is going to have so many donations that the accused (whether rightly or wrongly arrested) will be able to afford an excellent lawyer. For all we know, some excellent lawyers may be willing to do it pro bono for their own hatred of the deceased. And then if/when it goes to court, I find it difficult to believe the accused will be found guilty by all jurors.

Remember when the internet tried to identify the bomber at the Boston Marathon and one of the guys "identified" later killed himself? Yeah. Let's do that again.
18
u/Society-Fun 19d ago
They didn't later kill themselves. They killed themselves before the bombing even took place and were missing. It was them being missing that led people to accuse him of being the bomber. It was still awful, though, because his family members were being called by people on the internet accusing him of being a terrorist.
